Bi metal screws are also named elco bi flex screws, bi metal tek screws and bi hex roofing screws.
These screws are normally divided into bi metal self drilling screws and bi metal self tapping screws.
Our bi-metal screws are comprised of two types of steels.
The drill-point is made out of SCM 435 alloy steel that is heat treated to guarantee exquisite drilling performance.
The screw body including head section is formed from A2 304 / A4 316 stainless steel which is characterized by it's excellent corrosion resistance.
Generally, the bi metal self tapping screws are made by stainless steel A2 304. And the bi metal self drilling screws are made by stainless steel A4 316.
Since the material 304 normally do not have the process of heat treatment, the hardness of stainless steel 304 is lower than stainless steel 316.
When the worker drill the metals, they use the 316 self drilling screws mostly.
