Stainless steel is divided into many types according to its chromium and nickel content. Among them, only stainless steel with a chromium and nickel content of less than 18% can be attracted by magnets. Specifically, martensitic stainless steel can be attracted by magnets, while ferritic stainless steel can only be partially attracted by magnets.
